Engineering was supposed to be all about lectures, lab reports, and long hours with textbooks. But for me, it turned into something quite different—a rollercoaster of missed classes, behind-the-scenes chaos, and moments of unexpected triumph.
I’ll admit it: I bunked—a lot. Not just the occasional boring lecture, but entire days if the vibe wasn’t right. While some of my friends were front-benchers glued to the board, I was probably finalizing stage setups, fixing mic systems, or running around coordinating with sponsors for the next big college fest.
You see, while I may have had a complicated relationship with classrooms, I had a passionate love affair with college life outside of them. I threw myself into organizing events—tech fests, cultural nights, seminars, hackathons, you name it. From handling logistics to convincing faculties for permissions (sometimes harder than clearing a backlog!), I lived for the rush of it all.
Ironically, many of those sleepless nights preparing for fests taught me more about time management, leadership, and handling pressure than any formal lecture ever could. I learned to write scripts, manage teams, talk to crowds, handle disasters, and still smile through the chaos. I found my strengths in chaos.
But here’s the punchline: Despite all the bunking and fest madness, I completed my degree with distinction.
People often ask, "How did you manage?" Honestly, I don’t know. Maybe it was the panic-driven adrenaline during exams. Maybe it was the fact that organizing events trained my brain to work under pressure. Or maybe I just found my own weird balance between passion and academics.
In the end, my engineering journey wasn’t about perfect attendance. It was about making the most of the experience—on my own terms. And looking back, I wouldn’t trade those days for anything. Because while I may not remember every formula, I’ll always remember the cheers of the crowd, the late-night chai at the canteen, the last-minute stage rehearsals, and the crazy joy of pulling it all off.
That was my engineering life—unconventional, unpredictable, and unforgettable.
